This time last year I made my second trip to New York for the gift show. The first time I went by myself and I was fine, actually proud of myself, not being a big city girl. This time I did it with a good friend and shop owner, and met up with wonderfully gracious friends that live there. In my wildest dreams I would never expected to love New York, and I certainly never planned to ride the subway. We had the best time! I ate some of the best meals of my life, cried in the impressionist wing at the met, walked for miles, and made that subway my b!#@h! (forgive that sentiment) I’m very sad to miss it this year, it just wasn’t worth it for the small amount of new lines I found. See that post here.
The good news is I don’t always have to travel to see new lines.
Coming soon, more Lauren and Gracia. I met them in New York, they live 50 miles from here, it was the only jewelry line out of hundreds that got a second glance from me.
More delicious scents from Tatine candles on the way.
I met Alexa at the San Francisco gift show. It’s mostly horrible gifty crap made overseas but you can find local artisans and very special things. Can’t wait for this order to arrive.
Also from the San Francisco show, Hidden Folk. Forgive the website, these two charming fellows are too busy developing, making, selling and packaging their yummy products.
I’m crossing my fingers everything will arrive before my Anniversary party in September!
I love New York, and am patiently waiting until next year to re-visit, be re-inspired by the energy, and eat.
See you soon,
~ Scarlett
