When I left for the Texas antique fair this fall, as last fall, it was bittersweet. Things weren’t selling like they used to, in the “good old days”. I did not have a wad of cash in my pocket and my shop was full of furniture, but the trip was booked, and I felt like I should still go. Since it was not all about the rush of shopping and the thrill of the hunt, I took my time. I wandered, meandered, drifted, killed time and went with the wind. I took photos and chatted with friends.
Things have a way of working themselves out, I am happy to say. I brought back a nice bunch of small, special treasures that will go to happy homes. Since I got back things have been better, people are nesting and preparing for the holidays, and all of a sudden my shop is looking quite bare. Not to worry, I’m on the case, California has many treasure troves as well and I’ll be out hunting this weekend! Thanks for listening, and I hope you enjoy the pics!
