why the name?

Saffron is a great British name I have always loved; it’s rich and sophisticated. To me, Saffron always does her own thing, she does not follow others, she does not need to be a leader, but people follow her because she has a special style they can’t resist…

Genevieve was my grandmother’s name. Her house could not be described as any one era or style; it was filled with treasures she acquired in her travels all over the world, and felt interesting, inviting, and cozy.

Colleen’s philosophy

I believe a home should constantly evolve, rather than be permanently “decorated”, things should be acquired over time, as the budget allows, and as the perfect pieces are found. I believe you should never have an item in your home that you do not love.

I hand pick everything in the shop, and don’t tend to bring in anything I would not have in my own home. I sell both old and new, but the new better be very special because I have a connection with the old, the stories and soul of a piece are almost as important as the beauty (or ugliness). I am not trendy, and prefer a home to look timeless, classic, and whimsical. It should be comfortable and work with the way you live. There are no hard and fast rules in my book, I like to make them up as I go.
