ABOUT

“I’m a firm believer in chapters, when it’s time to close one and move on, it is always exciting for me. I’ve led a very creative life since I was a child. Now I am extremely grateful to be able to make art full time, whether it’s with clay, beads, paper, or curating the view of the Sonoran desert through our windows. My old bio below has not changed, but this is where I am now, and hope to continue this story for many years to come.”

A proud Silicon Valley native, designer Scarlett Fiona Reed’s perennial interest in art and interiors led her to craft her career, honing it skill by skill in the real world. Her keen eye and exquisite taste just come naturally.

Never one to follow the pack, when she could not find jewelry she liked, Scarlett taught herself. She began making her own and to this day she is still creating special pieces, for herself and for you, which will pop up for sale on her Instagram.

She is a fan of original art and accessories, and prefers quality goods over designer names. In her personal life she’s carefully choosing local, organic, fair trade and sustainable food and products. She also makes many of her own lotions, balms, tinctures, liquors, and oils.

In 1998 Reed began working at The Avenue in Los Gatos, California gathering design knowledge – from everything upholstery to the intricacies of specifying window treatments. It was here that she began her paint color consulting career. Learning the technical aspect of Benjamin Moore paint and colorants as well as seeing the color in clients homes was invaluable. She later went on to work at Antiques and Interiors, where she found her unwavering love of linen and fine antiques, as well the joy of working with unlimited budgets and good taste.

In 2005 Scarlett opened her dream store in Santa Cruz California, showcasing her interior design style in the beautiful home furnishings shop, Saffron and Genevieve. Memorable times were had roaming the fields in Round Top Texas and Brimfield Massachusetts scouting for fine antiques and cool decorative objects for the store, and bringing clients to the San Francisco Design Center for top of the line gorgeousness for their homes. She closed that shop after 11 lovely years and began working from her home office with a view of the rolling hills of San Jose, continuing to create awesome spaces for her clients. 2021 called for a change of scenery, and she moved to Carefree Arizona, to see what the universe brings her way.
